Scott Hayes is the dean for the School of Communication & the Arts and a professor of Theatre Arts at Liberty University. Dr. Hayes has an MFA in Theatre and a Ph.D. in Communication, and his academic research explores the connections between applied theatre and communication theory. He maintains his professional work as a director, actor, and playwright. Dr. Hayes is a member of SAG/AFTRA and AEA. His short play WITHOUT EXCUSE is published by CHRISTIANITY AND THEATRE, his production of AS YOU LIKE IT was profiled in SOUTHERN THEATRE, and he directed BLOODROOT: THE BALLAD OF CLINCH MOUNTAIN, a play written and performed by a 20-member all-female company, which was nationally recognized by the KC/ACTF as a Distinguished Production of a New Work. His adaptation of the best-selling novel REDEEMING LOVE has been produced across the United States. Dr. Hayes is the editor of two books: ARTHUR SULLIVAN: THE CALIFORNIA CONNECTION, and ‘YOUR AFFECTIONATE A:’ A COLLECTION OF SIR ARTHUR SULLIVAN'S LETTERS TO HIS FAMILY. He serves SETC as the chair of the Religion and Theatre committee and as an editorial board member for SOUTHERN THEATRE magazine.
