Emory, VA
Rachel Black holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Vocal Performance from Vanderbilt University and The University of Kentucky, respectively. Some of her musical theatre roles include Domina in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum(VA), Carlotta in Yeston’s Phantom (OH), Ms. Darbus in High School Musical (NY), Nettie in Carousel (IN), Martha in White Christmas (IL), Mayor Matilda in All Shook Up (AZ), and Eulalie Shinn in The Music Man (NY). She toured internationally with the American Spiritual Ensemble and was the alto soloist in Mozart’s Requiem (AL). Miss Black is currently the Head of Musical Theatre at Emory & Henry College in Virginia. Her students are performing on cruise ships, at theme parks, and at regional theaters across the country.
