Rebecca Covey is an Equity actor, designated Linklater Voice teacher and Associate Professor in Acting, Voice and Movement at Florida International University in Miami.   At FIU she serves as Head of Performance and as the resident Voice & Dialect Director. She also works as a professional dialect coach with Zoetic Stage, Gable Stage and Miami New Drama.  As an actor, Rebecca has performed in Equity Theatres throughout the Midwest as well as in California, Scotland, Australia and France.

Professor Covey earned a BFA in Acting and a BA in French from the University of California, Santa Barbara as well as an MFA in Acting from the University of Wisconsin.   She taught at the Theatre School at DePaul University, Northern Illinois University, and Columbia College, Chicago.

Her research focuses on helping neurodiverse theatre artists reach their full potential and the intersection of gender, culture and voice. She is the chair of the SETC Voice & Speech Committee.
